The National Weather Service issued a hazardous marine conditions warning on Saturday afternoon, saying to expect breaking waves of 25-30 feet from Saturday night through early Monday. “It’ll be crazy,” said Roger Gass, a forecaster with the weather service. Portions of the Bay Area, including higher elevations and the coast, will fall under a more severe wind advisory, with gusts up to 80 mph possible in the same time frame. Just south of the Bay Area, the Santa Cruz area could also measure up to 4 inches with the mountains likely to see up to 7 inches. “Flooding of roads, streams, and poorly draining areas” is possible across the greater Bay Area, the weather service said.
