Billionaire Larry Ellison ticketed on his own Hawaii island

Not even a 98% ownership stake on a Hawaii island can get you out of getting ticketed for driving without a license. That’s the lesson that ex-Silicon Valley tech billionaire Larry Ellison learned the hard way, according to a Tuesday report by Hawaii News Now. The Oracle co-founder, according to the Hawaii news outlet, was driving his orange Chevrolet Corvette one October evening when he was stopped by a police officer. Ellison was ticketed, but it is unclear what fine or penalty he received as a result of the alleged traffic violations. Ellison hasn’t quite earned the good will of his neighbors and the lawmakers who reside on the island.
