Councilwoman Tasha Diaz, the Democratic majority leader of the Yonkers City Council, is accused of hurling the remark at Councilwoman Corazon Pineda-Issac after a January 2 meeting. Pineda-Isaac voted against keeping Diaz as the majority leader for another two-year term, but was unsuccessful in the bid. ‘My colleagues on the council and some of the staff witnessed the Majority Leader of the Yonkers City Council, the third largest city of New York say that she was going to “slit my throat,”’ wrote Pineda-Isaac.
