A day after a deadly shooting disrupted spring break in Miami Beach, large crowds of undeterred and defiant revelers returned to Ocean Drive to party. Unlike last year’s restrictions, Miami Beach Police didn’t impose a curfew after the double shooting on the busiest stretch of South Beach. “Given that this seems to have been an isolated incident occurring before midnight, and the crowds have been otherwise calm, it would be hard to justify and legally defend an organized curfew,” Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber said. Unlike last year, Miami Beach Police did not impose a curfew following the double shooting. Crowds of undeterred revelers returned to Ocean Drive to continue the party.
