[12] conducted a study on 7–14-year-old German children, and they provided a diagnosis on migraine, tension-type headache, and non-classifiable headache, based on questionnaire data, like we did. Interestingly, children in the tension-type headache group were least physically active but had less severe pain than the other two groups. In our study distinctly more children with migraine, (and to a lesser extent also non-classifiable headache) consulted a general practitioner or a pediatrician than children with tension-type headache. Classification of headachesThere can be several explanations for the high number (55%) of non-classifiable children in our study. It can never be as nuanced as an interview, where it would be possible to get more nuanced answers and thereby minimize the amount of non-classifiable headaches.
