Transgender sports restrictions advance on a national levelSPORTS BILL ADVANCES FOR FIRST TIME — Congressional Republicans are the closest they’ve ever been to passing legislation that would prohibit transgender women and girls from playing on sports teams that match their gender identity. “West Virginians and the American people are animated,” West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said at a Thursday press conference. — The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is asking Congress to approve $500 million for the programs. The resulting uptick in dual enrollment students has spurred a small increase in overall community college attendees from the last academic year — a much needed boost after those institutions faced the worst enrollment plunges due to the pandemic. Nearly all states have dual enrollment policies.
